Yiwu Grand Forest Guo You Lin Ancient Tree Sheng Pu'erh Tea Cake 200g 国有林
Guo You Lin, or “national forest” tea, is a new concept in recent years, referring to tea leaves harvested from any deep forest, as opposed to the historical tradition of referring to tea based on a harvest from a specific geographical location. The most well known national forest tea is in Yiwu mountains. These national forests have existed for centuries, usually along the borders of Laos and Myanmar. They are owned by the Chinese government, but there are some ancient tea trees that grow naturally, scattered throughout the forest, so the locals are allowed to go into the forest and pluck the tea leaves during the harvest season. Since these teas are from the such a highly natural ecological environment, the tea has a more profound taste and rich substance. Due to its rarity and preciousness, tea from the national forests has a very limited production, so it increasily has become the most sought-after tea among Chinese puerh tea connoisseurs. It is rarely accessible even from within the Chinese market. Due to its popularity and high quality, there are some copycats and faked teas, intermingling leaves from other areas or simply using inferior Pu-erh leaves that are labeled Guo You Lin. Our brand is 100% pure leaves from the national forest, no blends, no mixes.
This tea is from the forest that lies in the national forest territory of San Jia Zhai of Yiwu mountains, at the border between China and Laos. Yiwu is one of the six ancient pu-erh tea mountains in Qing dynasty. We are fortunate to have found this tea in Victoria’s tea trip. This tea is first spring harvest, rich in content and taste, very smooth and creamy, has strong huigan and Hou Yun, a taste of wilderness, producing a long-lasting aftertaste. Due to its rich content in the leaves, it can sustain more than 20 steepings. It surely showcases the very essence of the very best of sheng puerh tea. It is a truly special tea that will expand the horizons of your tea journey.
