Tea Questions

How do you package your tea?

Though we don’t invest in fancy packaging, we do use the best quality resealable foil pouches on the market that completely block all light, moisture and odor, so  our customers pay for the quality of the tea and not any unnecessary frills. Also the pouches are not only convenient, but save you from purchasing additional tea tins. We do have tea tins option for a nice tea gift.

All teas are also carefully hand-packed to preserve the integrity of the leaves. 

What sizes are your packages when I order?

We currently offer premium loose-leaf teas in sizes ranging from 28 grams(1 oz) to 250 grams (8.8 oz). We also offer a sample size of 50 grams for puer tea cakes that allow you to try the tea without purchasing the whole cake. All sizes come in a 100% light and moisture blocking pouch for maximum protection.


How long will my tea stay fresh?

Tea is sensitive to light, air and moisture. We take serious measures to keep our tea fresh. We carefully select the highest quality tea pouches currently available in the market. We don't use the semi-transparent or see through packages, our tea pouches are 100% light blocked and moisture blocked, odor free, and are resealable for your convenient use. Once you open your tea pouch, your tea will stay optimally fresh for six months to a year (for green and yellow teas) if stored away from heat and moisture in our resealable pouches. Black tea should retain good flavor for 24 months. For puer tea, dark tea, and some oolongs, it is good for many years if stored properly.

What would you recommend for gift?

Any tea in our store is great for a gift as they are premium exotic teas, and especially great for tea lovers and tea connoisseurs. We also have gifts available tailored to the season. You might also consider our hand blown glass tea pots, exclusive porcelain tea wares, or other high quality authentic gongfu tea wares. 

How is your tea sold?

We currently sell only loose leaf teas, because we directly source and hand pick high quality whole leaf teas from their historical origins. Most of our teas are hand processed compared to those machine produced in large quantity. Both loose leaf teas and teas in a teabag come from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis, however, they are processed differently. While both teas can be of good quality, the traditional method in general produces a more complex depth of flavor and aroma. Yes, teabags are more convenient, but they can negatively affect the taste of tea, while loose leaf teas can also be brewed easily and typically produce better aroma and taste.

Payment and Shipping Questions

What shipping options do you offer?

We currently offer United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class mail and Priority mail. We also offer UPS 2nd day at individual's request. You can select these options at check out. Every shipment will include a tracking number to gauge delivery progress.

Do you Ship Internationally?

Yes, we now ship worldwide.

How quickly will I receive my order?

For domestic US shipping via USPS Priority Mail, it takes about 2-3 business days depending on the zip code.

For shipping via USPS International, it takes anywhere from 7-21 days.

To estimate the arrival date of your order, we fulfill order within 24 hours of business days for order fulfillment prior to shipping. No order fulfillment and shipping on the weekends.

How do I check on the status of my order?

In order to check your order status, you need to create an account with MeiMei Fine Teas. When you login by using your email address and password, you will be able to check the status of past and pending orders.

Do you offer free shipping?

We may offer free shipping during special promotions. We reserve the right to choose the delivery method for all qualifying orders.

What is your return policy?

We stand by the quality of our products. We accept any return within 14 days of purchase for any reason. The package has to be unopened, unused, and in original packaging condition. Please refer to our Shipping and Returns Policy for more information.

What is your refund policy?

Refunds will be issued within seven days of receipt of the return and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original payment. We will notify you of the status of your refund via email.

What if my order received is damaged or defective?
If the item is defective or was damaged during shipment, we will be gladly replace it at no cost to you or issue a refund at your request. Please send us your request at .
