Jingdezhen Artisan Doucai Porcelain Autumn and Intellectual Teacup

$ 885.00

The original painting and porcelain artwork on this teacup was completed at a top studio in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of the world. Each of these handcrafted cups feature a delicate artistic painting depicting the relationship between man and the nature. The painting and calligraphy writing on the teacup is the original creative work of Wu Yuehe (吴曰何), whose name is inscribed on the cup at the end of the calligraphy. Mr. Wu is a member of the National Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Society, well-respected and prominent porcelain calligrapher and porcelain artist in Jingdezhen's artistic community. The gold filigree at the bottom of the cup adds flair and luxury to the elegance. The shape is classic Mati (horseshoe) that has a round bottom and wide open at the top, very thin and light weight, exhibiting the luminescence that is characteristic of top-quality Jingdezhen clay porcelain.

Landscape painting of mountains, water and trees are a timeless subject in ancient Chinese art and painting. One cup, an intellectual is observing a distant mountain and the colorful trees, while on the other, an intellectual is seen contemplating in the bamboo forest. The work is inspired by the famous Qing dynasty painter Bada Shan Ren (八大山人), who's style is to use very simple paint, but a well-designed composition with a lot of space to create Zen's emptiness and endless meaning.

Doucai is a Chinese porcelain style that uses a range of colors to decorate the porcelain. It is one of the four major porcelain decoration styles of the Ming and Qing dynasty. It has become the latest hot trend as part of the recent renaissance of China's porcelain heritage over the past decade.

Fine porcelain can enhance the flavor of the tea. This cup is beautiful to behold and comfortable to use. It will surely enrich your tea experience and is a great original artwork piece to add to your tea ware collection.
