Wild Grown Huo Shan Huang Ya Yellow Tea

Highlights
Due to popular demand, we have brought this specialty yellow tea back! Huo Shan Yellow Tea is one of the three Chinese yellow teas hailing from Huo Shan county, Anhui province. It was a tribute tea during the Ming dynasty. Huo Shan county was the major operation base, known as Da Bie Shan (大别山根据地), for Deng Xiao Ping's Red Army in combating the Japanese invasion during WWII. Now it is the home of Huo Shan yellow tea.

This tea came from the forest hill of the mountain at a high elevation of about 1000 meters, often covered with mist and clouds, among the bamboo forest. See the landscape pictures from the core producing area of Huo Shan city taken by Victoria from her 2018 tea sourcing trip. The buds and leaves have a pale green color with various hues. The liquor is vibrant and a bright pale green and yellowish color. The tea has a nice sweet floral aroma, is very mellow and smooth, buttery and refreshing, with a lasting sweet finish. Like a good friend, this tea will not let you down, even after excessive infusion. It's easy to brew, with no bitterness or astringency even after a long steeping.
