Description

Renowned as the "Burgundy wine of teas," Keemun (Qimen) is a legendary Chinese black tea celebrated for its exquisite complexity. Once a favorite luxury of the British Royal Family, our Imperial Grade represents the absolute pinnacle of traditional Keemun Gongfu craftsmanship.

While most standard markets offer lower-grade Keemun Hao Ya A or B varieties, our Imperial grade is an ultra-rare, top-tier selection. Its exceptionally fine, tightly rolled dry leaves are the hallmark of true artisan Gongfu processing—a meticulous, highly complex traditional method that coaxes out the world-famous, elusive "Keemun Fragrance."

The Sensory Experience:

  • The Pour: Brews into brilliant, jewel-toned red liquor that is a visual masterpiece in your cup.
  • The Aroma: A captivating, intense floral bouquet that fills the room instantly.
  • The Flavor Profile: Incredibly smooth, mellow, and multi-layered. Expect a luscious sweetness of ripe plums and dark cherries, balanced by undertones of fresh wildflowers and rich, earthy yams.
  • The Energy: Delivers a clean, focused boost to mental alertness and sustained energy without the crash.

This complex tea evolves beautifully with each infusion. It easily sustains up to 8 steepings using the traditional Gongfu style,

Supreme Imperial Grade What Makes It Special?

This very rare grade is crafted using an ultra-complex traditional production method. Every single steep unlocks a completely new layer of flavor. It starts with an incredibly fragrant, floral aroma, melting into a deep, mellow sweetness reminiscent of cherries and plums. As you continue through up to 10 infusions, subtle notes of wildflowers and rich yams emerge, keeping your palate guessing and wanting more.

Top shelf unique black tea.

"I am updating my review. My second session with this tea was amazing. 10 out of 10. Chocolate, plum, almonds and an amazing candy sweetness on the sides of the tongue. The pleasing flavor lingered. This is a top shelf black tea."

Coax it a bit for a reward.

"The first steep after a wash was a bit harsh. I backed off the temp a bit and was able to pull out some honey like sweetness and complexity. Tasty finish. Nice tea high. Definitely a good quality."

Pretty Okay

"I'm on the hunt for the best Keemun (Qimen) I can possibly find available to the US. I've had many this year. This one is okay. Not as subtle and flavorful as a whole leaf, golden tipped Qimen. This has a lot of broken up leaves and gives mostly clean, mineral, charcoal flavors. I've had fresh Qimen from 2024 with whole wiry leaves with golden tips and got a much different cup - sweet potato, cocoa, rose and orchid. I am guessing this came from a lot that's a number of years old. Love the website and descriptions, location and farm information."

I tend to avoid Keemun teas

"But this one is a keeper. I think of them as a bit too smoky flavored. Again, not in this case. It’s dark, hearty taste and scent make it a terrific all day drink and the fu gong brewing technique keeps it ever fresh"

SANDRA W. (5/5)

Love this tea

"This is the smoothest black tea I have drunk in a long time. Thank you! I will be reordering this soon."

Luscious

"A luscious black tea it is! Had this tea at the start of the pandemic in April 2020 and couldn’t stop thinking about how wonderful it was to wake up to it. So I ordered it again. Love it."
