Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong Tong Tian Xiang Heavenly Fragrance

Tong Tian Xiang (通天香) translates to “Fragrance Reaching the Heaven,” a name that speaks to its extraordinary aromatic intensity and lingering presence. True to its name, this cultivar offers a pronounced floral bouquet reminiscent of fresh ginger flower — hence its alternate name, Ginger Flower Fragrance. The liquor is silky, buttery, and naturally sweet, unfolding into layers of spice and vibrant tropical fruit. The captivating aroma and fruit-forward elegance make this tea especially treasured among devoted oolong enthusiasts.

As with all of our Phoenix Dan Cong selections, the floral and fruity notes occur entirely naturally. No artificial flavoring, scenting oils, or extracts are ever added — only the pure expression of cultivar, terroir, and traditional craftsmanship.

Harvest time:            April 2025 pluck, roasting completed in the fall 2025. 

Plucking standard:   One bud, two or three leaves

Tasting Notes 

As the name suggests, a heavenly fragrance is noticeable in the first steeping and throughout your tea session. It is full-bodied, buttery and sweet. One can note the hints of passion fruit, cherries, and pomegranate.
