Description

Lapsang Souchong, the first black tea ever created, hails from Tong Mu Guan, Xing Chun village, in Wuyi mountains, Fujian province. The Chinese name Zhen Shan Xiao Zhong means small varietal from the true high mountain, to distinguish it from other black teas that are outside of Tong Mu Guan, which are not high mountain areas. Tong Mu Guan is within the national forest preserve, with a pristine forest and numerous species and plants in the mountainous landscape, the best natural environment for growing tea, including some wild grown old bushes, most of them are more than 60-100 years old.

Old bush black tea is the king of Lapsang Souchong. The old tea bushes absorb the essence of the pristine environment, making it taste clean and delicious. This tea was sourced from Victoria's 2023 trip to Wuyi Mountain, and has that special taste character of woodiness, moss, and nature's essence permeating the liquor. It has a strong fragrance, with spicy and fruity notes, wild sugar sweetness and a satisfying aftertaste. You will notice "hou yun", the liquor running down from your moistened throat down to your stomach, comforting your body. It is a wonderful sensory delight.
