Description

Lichuan Gongfu Black Tea carries a distinguished heritage, historically is part of the famed Yihong Gongfu Black Tea ( 宜红 ) exported to Britain during the late Qing Dynasty.

This exceptional black tea comes from mountainous Lichuan County in Enshi, Hubei Province—a pristine tea-growing region known for its misty mountains, lush forests, and naturally selenium-rich soil. With approximately 85% forest coverage, the area’s unspoiled ecology creates ideal conditions for producing vibrant, expressive teas. In 2018, Lichuan Gongfu Black Tea gained national recognition when it was served during the summit between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The dry leaves are tightly twisted and dark, yielding a smooth, mellow cup with elegant notes of rose, roasted pear, and black cherry, finishing with a lingering natural sweetness. Like our beloved Enshi green teas, this tea also benefits from the region’s naturally selenium-rich terroir.

Versatile and deeply satisfying, Lichuan Gongfu Black Tea is equally suited for breakfast, afternoon tea, or pairing with hearty meals and sweet treats.
