Tongmu Guan Classic Smoky Lapsang Souchong Gongfu Black Tea

It is the distinct smoky flavor of Lapsang Souchong that inspires the imagination and  memories of this exceptional real legendary black tea. This world-famous tea is sourced from its true origin, Tong Mu Guan Village, Wuyi Mountain, Fujian province. Dating back to 1568, legend has it that this was the first black tea ever crafted. While many variants of Lapsang Souchong are available, fewer still are expertly crafted using the traditional smoky method. What results is a well-balanced tea that the smokiness does not overwhelm the palate with notes of carbon and ash.

 This tea presents a delightful combination of the signature pine wood smokiness and logan fruit taste, as if one retreated for the weekend to a log cabin getaway, and it concludes with a fruity, sweet lasting finish. The smokiness and logan fruity note last until the last steeping, well indicate of its high quality well-made character. It is also a good choice even if you prefer milk in your tea.

Victoria visited Tong Mu Guan, the birth place of the first black tea Lapsang Souchong in 2016. While she was learning the process of the oldest black tea, she paid visit to Mr. Liang Jun De (梁骏得) , who is the inventor of the wildly popular Jin Jun Mei black tea, also originated from Tong Mu Guan. It is such a wonderful memory that Victoria decided to bring this signature black tea back again.
