Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong Osmanthus Fragrance Gui Hua Xiang

Osmanthus Fragrance is one of the ten famous aroma cultivars of Dan Cong oolongs. The mother bush of Osmanthus is said to be around 300 years old. It takes its name from the tea’s naturally occurring osmanthus-like fragrance that arises not from scenting or added flowers, but from the leaf’s own enzymatic transformation during processing. The formation of aromatic compounds gives this tea its signature honeyed Osmanthus floral character, a beautiful example of nature and craftsmanship in harmony.

The fragrance of osmanthus reflects the understated elegance at the heart of the rich Chao Zhou Gongfu tea culture. In moments of quiet leisure, brew a cup and a gentle osmanthus aroma slowly unfolds. The dry tea leaves are usually tightly twisted, straight, exuding a pleasant aroma when smelled dry. As the tea steeps, layered aromatics intertwine gracefully. The liquor is golden-yellow color, smooth and full-bodied. It offers a sweet, mellow, and lingering finish that softly endures.
