Huang Shan Mao Feng Yellow Mountain Green Tea
A Legendary Chinese Green Tea
Ranked among China’s top ten most famous teas, This tea hails from the northern slopes of Huang Shan (Yellow Mountain) in Anhui Province. This iconic region, known for its UNESCO World Heritage-listed Yellow Mountain National Park, offers ideal natural conditions for tea cultivation—warm, humid weather, abundant rainfall, and generous sunshine. We have offered this tea since Victoria's first visit to this plantation in 2016,
Grown at elevations around 1,200 meters, the tea plants thrive in mineral-rich soil interspersed with rocky terrain and are often shrouded in mist and clouds, creating a unique microclimate that enhances the tea’s quality.
Top-grade Huang Shan Mao Feng is hand-harvested with one tender bud and a baby leaf. The dry leaves are slightly curled, resembling a sparrow’s tongue, and are denser and heavier than those from non-core regions. Their bright yellowish-green color displays varied hues, becoming even more vibrant when steeped.
This tea has a layered aroma—floral orchid notes complemented by subtle nutty and vegetal undertones. The flavor is elegant and delicate, with a silky texture and notes of green bean and fresh pea, finishing with a lingering sweetness. Even after extended steeping, it remains smooth and clean, with no bitterness or astringency.
