Description

This Pu-erh tea is a middle aged treasure, sourced from the historic Feng Qing county near the renowned 3,200-year-old "Mother of Tea Trees." Aged for over 10 years, it offers a remarkably smooth, sweet sugarcane flavor with minimal astringency, a deep golden liquor, and incredible salivary stimulation (生津).

Tai Hua tea was a famous tea in Feng Qing during ancient times, having gained notoriety from the book “The Travel Dairies” by the great geologist and writer Xu Xia Ke (徐霞客) of the Ming dynasty, who described the tea from this region as both delicious and comforting.

2015 was an especially standout year for Pu-erh tea harvesting and processing, resulting in tea with great aging potential and depth. See the picture of the "Mother of Tea Trees" from Victoria's sourcing trip in 2017.

Note: Traditionally packed in a set of 7 cakes called Tong. To purchase a full Tong, simply add seven cakes to your cart.
