Artisan Jian Shui Purple Clay Lotus Relief and Sculpture Teapot

Jian Shui Purple Clay Pottery is one of the four famous classes of Chinese pottery. Jian Shui clay is extracted from the local "five color" mountain, as the soil has abundant deposits of red, yellow, purple, white, and brownish clay content, referred to by the locals as "Wu Se Tu", meaning five color soil. Iron is the richest element in this clay, and after firing, a lot of Jian Shui clay teapots have a black color or mixed tones, featuring reddish or copper tints. 

This teapot features beautiful lotus flower bud ready to bloom, with a clever design and excellent craftmanship. Intricately carved blooming lotus flowers cleverly serves as the handle on the lid.  It enriches your gongfu brewing experience and good for any tea brewing excepts green tea.
