Artisan Jian Shui Clay Color Filling Flower and Butterfly Teapot

Jian Shui Purple Clay Pottery is one of the four famous classes of Chinese pottery. Jian Shui clay is extracted from the local "five color" mountain, as the soil has abundant deposits of red, yellow, purple, white, and brownish clay content, referred to by the locals as "Wu Se Tu", meaning five color soil. Due to abundant iron deposit in the soil, most Jian Shui clay teapots turn to black or brown color after firing.
