This beautiful classic shaped teapot represents the highest quality wood-fired Jian Shui clay ware, made by the very best master potter Langgui, who is the most well-known wood-firing potter artist and pioneer of Jian Shui pottery. He studied wood-firing techniques in Japan and has been practicing wood-firing since the late 1990s. Victoria visited him during her 2023 sourcing trip and carefully selected several teapots from his collection to bring back to the US. 

Wood-firing requires masterful skill set and extensive experience, and there is a low success rate for each firing. Due to the local clay's high content of iron and very high temperature, Langgui's wood-fired teapots usually have metallic radiance. The extreme the temperature, the more metallic appearance. Fired at 1200 Celsius degrees, this teapot is an exquisite combination of wood-firing aesthetics and excellent work of craftmanship. The spout, lid and handle seamlessly unite as one. The art design is brilliant, the bug falling on the autumn leaf, the mimic of tree branch on the handle and on the lid handle demonstrate the artistic appealing with the nature's gift.
