Yiwu Guo You Lin National Forest Ancient Tree Sheng Pu'erh Tea Cake 200g 国有林
Guo You Lin, or “national forest” tea, is a popular concept in recent years, referring to tea leaves harvested from any deep forest, as opposed to the historical tradition of referring to tea based on a harvest from a specific geographical location, such as a village or a mountain. The most well known national forest tea is found within the Yiwu mountains of Xishuanbanna, one of the six major historical tribute Pu-erh tea mountains during the Qing dynasty. These national forests have existed for centuries, with most of them along the borders of Laos and Myanmar. The national forests are owned by the Chinese government, but there are some naturally growing ancient tea trees scattered throughout the forest, so the locals are allowed to go into the forest and pluck the tea leaves during the harvest season. Since these tea trees grow in such a highly natural ecological environment, it gives the tea leaves a more profound taste and rich substance. Due to its rarity and preciousness, tea from the national forests has very limited production, so it has increasily become the most sought-after tea among puerh tea connoisseurs. It is rarely accessible even in the Chinese market. Due to its popularity and high demand, there are some copycats and faked teas, using leaves intermingled from other areas or simply inferior Pu-erh leaves that are labeled as Guo You Lin. Our brand is 100% pure leaves from the national forest, no blends, no mixes.
We are thrilled to have found this tea during Victoria’s tea trip. This tea is from the first spring harvest, rich in content and taste, very smooth and creamy, having a taste of the wilderness, with strong huigan and Hou Yun, producing a long-lasting aftertaste.
