This is thea green leaf highest grade white tea from its true origin, Fuding county, Fujian province. Fuding is the oldest and original areas for cultivation and production of white tea. Its early production dates back to the early nineteenth century, and since the cultivation of Da Bai varietal in 1880s, Silver Needles has then gained world fame and popularity. White tea is now made in some other regions of China. Different terroirs will produce a different quality and flavor, but white tea produced in Fuding still remains the most sought after white tea. Fuding has unique terroir with 90% of hilly land, and is credited as the "Home of Chinese White Tea".

Silver Needles is considered the king of white teas. Silver Needle has a very distinctive appearance. Its silvery down-covered tea buds are usually plucked in the spring and sun-dried without any firing process. However, the production of Silver Needles is very reliant on the weather conditions, as the sun-drying process produces a sweeter taste. Because of the light oxidation process (about 5-10% of oxidation), unlike green tea, this tea has no astringency or sharpness. It will not get bitter, even with high temperature water and longer steeping time. It is a great refreshing tea with great health benefit, suitable for all levels of tea drinkers.
