Signature Shi Feng Long Jing West Lake Dragon Well Green Tea
The production of dragonwell dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD), giving this green tea an impressively long history. Even then, it was prized for its unique appearance and taste, growing under ideal conditions thanks to the local spring water from nearby West Lake and the mountains protecting the area from cold, northern winds.
Within the West Lake region are a series of hills and mountains, each with progressively better soil and higher elevation. Among these, the most highly regarded is Lion’s Peak or Shi Feng. It was at this location around 250 years ago that Emperor Qian Long of the Qing dynasty, so impressed with the quality of the tea, appropriated 18 bushes of his own, designating them as tribute tea. Soon after, it became the most sought after tea in China and around the world.
Between the beautiful scenery and the rich history, it is still easy to see today why this tea is so special. This tea is produced and signed by the revered tea master Mr. Weng Bingquan, who is the founder of the trademark Shi Gong of Shi Feng Long Jing tea company. Hand-crafted and produced pre-ming, this is an exceptional tea in every respect. Whereas dragonwell tends to be associated with nutty flavors, Shi Feng possesses an elegance with its unusually floral fragrance and huigan (回甘), a beautiful, sweet aftertaste, as if one were comfortably floating backward in time to pleasant, familiar moments. There is little question that this tea is an exceptional treat for the discriminating connoisseur, and once you taste true dragonwell, you will never forget it.

To get the most enjoyment out of the tea, we recommend using a glass brewing vessel without an infuser, pouring the hot water first, adding the tea, and then smelling the amazing aroma and admiring the opening of the tea leaves.
