Organic Sichuan Imperial Gongfu Black Tea

2 reviews

This is an exceptionally well made black tea from Gao Xian county, in southwestern Sichuan province, China. Gui Fei Hong means precious concubine in Chinese. Sichuan gongfu black tea is one of the three major gongfu black tea growing regions in China. This tea is from the organic tea gardens at an altitude of about 1000 meters. Hand harvested and carefully crafted, has very fine, olden tippy, and tightly twisted dry leaves. it has aroma of malt and dark chocolate, with a hint of roasted black cherry and delivers a tasty complex finish. A very versatile tea, perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea, especially with hearty meals or chocolate brownies and other sweets.

This tea has reddish liquor, an aroma of roasted black cherry, and creamy texture, full body with notes of malt and chocolate. Slightly smoky and naturally sweet.

200oF, 4g (1 tbsp) for 6 oz of spring/filtered water, adjust to taste, 2 minutes, 3-4 steepings. We advise against the use of tap water as well as purified water.

It is recommend to use the Gongfu brewing method in order to get the most out of the tea. Please click here for Gongfu brewing instructions.
