Ge Deng Ancient Tree Gushu Sheng Pu'erh Tea Cake 200g 革登

No reviews

This tea hails from Ge Deng tea mountain, one of the six ancient pu-erh tea mountains, located in Mengla county of Xishuangbana prefecture, Yunnan. Ge Deng is located at the center of the ancient six mountains and was famous for being the tribute tea during the Qing dynasty. Its highest elevation is 1950 meters. Ge Deng is famous for Kong Ming mountain where Kong Ming is said to be the educator of the tea plantings about 2000 years ago.  History also records that Ge Deng was also famous for a King Pu-erh Tree where the locals gathered to worship and pray.

This tea is from the ancient tea terrace of the famous Zhi Bong village, one of the several villages that has preserved the ancient trees.  There used to be a lot of ancient puerh trees but many were cut down in the 1970's to 1980's to grow grain and corn.

There is not much Ge Deng tea on the market, certainly not from ancient trees. This is a rare find from Victoria’s tea trip. Ge Deng tea is known for its high floral fragrance. The first thing you notice is the floral fragrance that is like a spring breeze from a wildflower garden high in the mountains. The liquor is rich, complex, and thick, along with strong huigan and a sweet aftertaste. This tea will certainly elevate your tea experience.
