2006 Vintage Liu Bao Dark Tea (Lao Liu Bao Hei Cha) 老六堡黑茶
Liu Bao dark tea is another major type of Chinese dark tea, like Puerh and Anhua. This tea was harvested in 2006 from the local varietal's top grade leaves and was hand processed using traditional methods and aged locally in bamboo baskets. This is the traditionally preferred natural post-fermention process. This tea has been stored for 10-years and is now a wonderful tea to drink.
This aged Liu Bao is extremely complex. You will be amazed how much fun it is to discover a new dimension of flavor with each infusion. First, it is a little earthy, full, rich, and robust. After three steeps, a distinctive enticing areca fragrance starts to unfold, and the aroma reaches it's climax in subsequent steeps, which is indicative of a good quality, well-aged Liu Bao. The taste also becomes sweeter and sweeter with each steep. It is certainly a treasured find, and good for consumption now or store for aging.
