Premium Yunnan Gold Tips Black Tea Dian Hong Jing Ya 滇红金芽
Jin Ya means gold buds in Chinese, Dian Hong means Yunnan red, a truly exquisite and highly prized Chinese black tea. Dian Hong red tea was first invented by the pioneer tea master Pei Shao Qiu (picture below) in 1932 when he led a group of tea scholars to Yunnan to grow Chinese tea. This tea comes from the high mountains of Feng Qing county, Yunnan province, where the first Yunnan black tea was developed in 1938. The tea varietal called Da Ye, meaning large leaves, is an ancient cultivar indigenous to Yunnan from which the famous Puer tea is produced. Dian Hong is known for three characteristics: large leaves, golden color and rich aroma. This special tea is comprised solely of hand-picked, furry, downy golden bud and one leave , which are then sun withered and roasted. Sun withering after picking is worthy of notice, as this process brings out a complex and yet smooth mouth feel, with a fruity aroma and malty flavor in the infusion of this tea. A truly excellent tea to enjoy for all occasions.
