Authentic Mei Jia Wu West Lake Dragon Well Xi Hu Long Jing Green Tea

We brought back our beloved Mei Jia Wu West Lake dragon well. Mei Jia Wu is one of the five villages produce the world renowned West Lake dragon well, or Xi Hu Long Jing in Chinese. The beautiful scenery along West Lake of Huang Zhou city and the nearby tea mountains has given Dragon well green tea a romantic and spiritual appeal as well as a magnificent sensory experience.

This tea is pre-ming harvest from a respected local dragon well tea producer that can be searched via the code on the original pack. With all of the attributes of an exceptional quality West Lake Dragon well, you smell the nuttiness at first, then when you inhale deeply, an unexpected orchid fragrance consistently fills your nose. What a great dragon well that combines floral notes and nuttiness so wonderfully! The liquor flows and rolls so smoothly in your mouth and flows down through your throat like the flowing waters of a mountain stream and gives you inner comfort like a sweet breeze. Pay attention to the finish of this tea, the huigan (回甘) or sweet aftertaste lingers in your throat and nose. After all, it is like an old friend visiting from afar, bringing a deep feeling of contentment throughout your body. A high quality tea and a true delicacy!

Steeping Guide)

185oF, 4g (2 tbsp) for 6-8oz of spring/filtered water, adjust to taste, first steeping 1 minute, up to 3 steepings. We advise against the use of tap water as well as purified water.

To get the most enjoyment out of the tea, we recommend using a gaiwan or glass brewing vessel without an infuser. For the best tea tasting results, warm up the teaware first, then add the tea leaves, take in the aroma, then pour the hot water on the side wall of the teaware. Please see more specific step-by-step brewing instructions below:

1. Tea to water ratio: 3g to 150ml/5oz water.

2. Water temperature: 180-185 F. Never, never use boiling water.

3. Water quality: Recommend to use spring water or filtered water. No tap water, purified or distilled water.

4. Brewing time: First steep about 2 minutes, subsequent steep 1-2min. If you use a gaiwan or porcelain teapot, please don’t cover your tea with the lid.

5. Note, please don’t forget to smell the aroma before drinking your tea. Aroma is always the first part of your sensory tea experience.
