2015 Aged Fuding Silver Needles White Tea Bai Hao Yin Zhen

Silver Needles is one of the most famous teas from China, the king of white tea. It is named after the shape of the tea leaf and the tiny white hairs that fully cover the buds.  From its true origin of Fuding, Fujian province, this tea was purchased in 2015 and stored in Virginia ever since. We have experienced its aging process from fresh leaves to 8 years of aging. There is Chinese saying regarding the aging benefits of Fuding white tea: "Year one a tea, year three a medicine, and year seven a treasure". After eight years of aging, this tea is delightfully aromatic, very clean, soothing, fruity, mellow and sweet, with no astringency or sharpness. The color of the wet leaf is a natural brown. It not only brews a deeply satisfying cup, but also provides great health benefits, as Silver needles tea is rich  in amino acid and polyphenol content.

Fuding is the home of white tea. Most inferior silver needles on the US market are not Fuding white tea. Some are from other parts of China, and others are even from different countries. At Meimei Fine Teas, we only offer high quality teas from their true origins as terroir plays a critical role in tea taste and the sensory experience.
