Highlights

This cup is the original work of a top porcelain studio in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of the world. These gongfu teacups are well-made using authentic high quality local clay and artistically hand painted with a traditional painting art form "Shanshui", meaning mountain and water landscape. The painting is inspired by the great painter Bada Shanren (八大山人) of the Qing dynasty and his landscape painting style. His work usually simplifies the main subject and leaves a lot of empty space for the audience's imagination. The trees, houses, rocks, and mountain peaks are well-composed to create a landscape that is an artistic conception of nature but with one's own endless meaning (意境), which is the philosophy and soul of ancient Chinese painting. The details of the painting on each cup may vary slightly as they are individually hand painted. Whether two or four as a set, the set stands gracefully at any tea table and adds enjoyment and delight to your tea life.
