Top Grade Yunnan Gold Tips Black Tea Dian Hong Jing Ya 滇红金芽
Highlights
Yunnan Gold Tips / gold buds, or Dian Hong Jin Ya in Chinese, is the highest grade of Yunnan gongfu black tea as it is only composed of buds. Other Dian Hong black teas are composed of one bud, one or two leaves depending on the grade. Jin Ya means gold buds/tips, Dian Hong means Yunnan red. Dian Hong was first invented by the pioneer tea master Pei Shao Qiu (see statue photo below) in 1932 when he led a group of tea scholars to Yunnan to grow Chinese black tea. The tea varietal called Da Ye, meaning large leaves, is an ancient cultivar indigenous to Yunnan from which the famous Puer tea is produced.
This tea is hand-picked and hand processed, has furry, downy golden buds. This tea has complex flavor, smooth and sweet, full bodied, with a fruity aroma and a malty flavor.
