Top Grade Yunnan Gold Tips Black Tea Dian Hong Jing Ya 滇红金芽
Jin Ya means gold buds in Chinese, Dian Hong means Yunnan red, a truly exquisite and highly prized Chinese black tea. Dian Hong red tea was first invented by the pioneer tea master Pei Shao Qiu (see statue photo below) in 1932 when he led a group of tea scholars to Yunnan to grow Chinese tea. The tea varietal called Da Ye, meaning large leaves, is an ancient cultivar indigenous to Yunnan from which the famous Puer tea is produced. Dian Hong is known for three characteristics: large leaves, golden color and rich aroma. This special tea is comprised solely of hand-picked, furry, downy golden buds, thus the name. This tea has complex flavor, smooth and sweet, full bodied mouth feel, with a fruity aroma and a malty flavor.
